EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently working with a large Primary School in Widnes to recruit an experienced SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant for a long term temporary job starting in September 2024.
The role will be working as part of an experienced EYFS team supporting two children of reception age alongside the class teacher, EYFS lead and school SENCO. The role will involve supporting a child with Autism and a non-verbal child.

Your new role
In your new roles as a SEN Teaching Assistant in EYFS you will supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis. You will be the pupil's main point of contact throughout the school day supporting them both in class and around the school. You will encourage their learning and development by supervising during learn through play sessions, holding speech and language sessions. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, Parent and Carers support the development of pupils and transition into primary school.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful with your application you will needYou will have experience working with young children within the last 2 years.

  • You should feel confident working with children in small groups.
  • You will need to be professional at all times, as well as friendly and enthusiastic.
  • You will need to be able to communicate effectively with staff, children and parents.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to acquire one through Hays
  • Two references from previous employment.
