An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a friendly and successful property investment and development company. The role involves contributing to the smooth running of a busy accounts department and treasury function, managing a substantial portfolio with a focus in central London and selected regions throughout the UK.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Preparing year-end accounts files to trial balance level, including profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
- Book-keeping and quarterly preparation of VAT Returns.
- Assisting in the treasury function, maintaining cash balances, and executing transfers and payments.
- Preparation and assistance in the preparation of management accounts, cash flows, and reports to banks.
- Ad-hoc management reporting and data analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part Qualified / AAT / Qualified by experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience, preferably in practice.
- Experience in preparing accounts files.
- Working knowledge of VAT and a solid understanding of double entry.
- Computer literacy, adaptable to new accounting packages, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent time management skills, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
- A positive approach, flexible, keen to learn, and conscientious.
- Honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
