About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Council Tax Assessment Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate assessment, billing, and collection of council tax. Your work will be essential in supporting local government services and making a positive impact on the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and maintain council tax records, including exemptions, discounts, and valuation bandings.
- Review and process applications for council tax reductions and exemptions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to council tax accounts.
- Liaise with residents, property owners, and other stakeholders to provide accurate information and advice on council tax matters.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures related to council tax assessments.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve the efficiency of council tax collection processes.
