Assistant Management Accountant
- Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000+ (dependent on experience)

We are currently representing a dynamic company in search of an Assistant Management Accountant. This role is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are either Qualified by Experience, Part-qualified, or actively pursuing professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance operations across four UK entities and three international entities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Reporting directly to the Finance Director.
- Recording and processing all income and expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Managing cash transactions, reconciling receipts to income, and overseeing bank accounts.
- Reviewing cash flow needs and preparing basic forecasts.
- Handling supplier invoices and payments, ensuring correct cost coding and payment runs.
- Preparing month-end journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reporting on creditor and debtor aging monthly, providing explanations for aged balances.
- Reconciling intercompany balances monthly.
- Processing monthly payroll and related journals.
- Assisting with VAT returns and other tax submissions.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and a narrative on business transactions.
- Collaborating with the Finance Director to finalise Management Reports.
- Contributing to the preparation of year-end financial statements.
- Supporting cash flow and budget preparation for the group of companies.
- Recommending improvements to financial processes for increased efficiency.
- Assisting the Finance Lead and Purchase Ledger clerk with finance operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified by Experience, Part-qualified, or actively pursuing ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Cost Control.
- FP&A experience is advantageous.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Essential practice experience.
- Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
- Quick learner with new systems.
