This role is known within the organisation as an Intensive Housing Management Worker.

Full Training Provided - you won't need to have experience in this sector as the organisation recognises that transferrable skills and experience are just as valuable and will provide training for the right candidate.

SALARY: £20,127 - £24,351 FTE / £13,802 - £16,698 Actual Annual Salary+ Generous Benefits (see below)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Administrator / Housing Support Assistantwith basic MS Office skills, strong organisational and multi-tasking skills and a caring nature.

As the Administrator / Housing Support Assistant you will join the Care and Support Team within a supported housing setting.

Day-to-day, as the Administrator / Housing Support Assistant you will be working alongside a small team of Intensive Housing Management Workers to manage the day-to-day health and safety of the building and to safeguard the clients that live there by answering clients enquiries and providing reactive support to those that are in crisis, in the absence of the main support team.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Administrator / Housing Support Assistant will include:

  • Ensure that Health & Safety checks are carried out by the team in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures and that voids are kept to a minimum
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are followed
  • Reception duties including answering the telephone, coordinating transport when necessary, updating the appointment book and signing in and out visitors and keys
  • Process voids and report/follow up repairs
  • Engage with external partners to ensure the best outcome for residents
  • Ensure reporting documents are being completed
  • Work closely with the support team and housing officer to address any breaches of a client's licence with the aim of preventing client evictions and focusing on tenancy sustainment
  • Report to the Senior Intensive Housing Management Worker (IHMW) to highlight any concerns regarding the day-to-day running of the building that compromises the safety of the building, staff and the residents that live within it
  • Providing emotional support in a sensitive and empathetic manner, offering guidance in accordance with procedures and the boundaries of the job role

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

You won't necessarily have experience in this sector, but the organisation recognises that transferrable skills and experience are just as valuable.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Basic MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in Homelessness and/or substance misuse and/or mental health is preferred but not necessary
  • Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations to reduce conflict
