As a Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of promoting and selling services, playing a crucial role in expanding the business. You will lead the charge in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the seamless onboarding and operational setup for new clients. This position requires a blend of strategic sales leadership and hands-on operational support to ensure successful contract delivery.

The Candidate;

  • A proven track record in business development, particularly within the e-commerce, retail, or wholesale industries.
  • Experience managing operational projects, especially in customer onboarding, contract setup, and system implementation.
  • A strong understanding of sales processes, CRM tools, and operational procedures.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • A full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel as required
  • Previous business development experience within a E-Comm logistics operation
  • Proven experience winning new within the general haulage and 3PL/4PL sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully acquiring new clients and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities;

Strategic Business Development & Execution:

  • Develop and implement business strategies that align with company goals, driving sales growth and profitability.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through lead generation, networking, and market research.

Customer Onboarding & Contract Setup:

  • Lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring effective contract setup and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from sales to operations.

Sales Process Optimisation & Relationship Management:

  • Optimise sales processes to maximise productivity and conversion rates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients to align goals and drive success.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide support during the go-live and stabilisation phases of new client setups, ensuring high performance.
  • Work with project teams to develop and implement new solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and operations.
  • Analyse sales and market data regularly to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
