Sales Ledger Assistant

We are in search of a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our client's finance team within the automotive industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in financial administration and a passion for accuracy. As a Sales Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the sales ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain and update sales ledger accounts, ensuring all sales transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Issue invoices and credit notes to customers while managing the accounts receivable process.
- Reconcile sales ledger accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Assist with the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of payments and reducing debtor days.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and customer queries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Prepare bank deposits and perform bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to verify and resolve account discrepancies.
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Assistant or in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of sales ledger processes and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT qualification or working towards an accounting qualification is advantageous.
