We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a disabled young female, who is soon to commence studying Linguistics at Cambridge University. She is looking for a like-minded person to join her care team of PAs who provide personal care and independent living support: this is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in a young adult's life.
Start: 1st October 2024
Location: Cambridge University (CB2 1TN)
Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live in)
Rate of Pay & Benefits
Pay: £200 per day / £1,400 per week
Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
Bespoke training in the client's particular requirements will be provided
On-call support from client coordinator
About the Job
We are looking for a positive, like-minded PA to assist our client with her day-to-day living and general support at university. Assisting her to lead as independent a life as possible. Example duties include but not limited to:
- Personal Care - Bathing, Dressing, Toileting.
- Health Care - Administering medicine, using medical equipment, physio.
- Commuting - Driving the clients adapted vehicle
- Social Support - Going to events, club and pubs
- Styling Hair using straighteners for the client
- Housekeeping / Domestic duties including cooking
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
About our Client
Our client is very friendly with a great sense of humour. She enjoys socialising with her friends and going out for meals, attending the cinema and theatre. Our client uses a powered wheelchair, but is able to use public transport and drive independently. She does not like being "fussed over" or patronised. She is keen to live as independently as possible and will want to be alone with her friends sometimes.
