We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join us as Pops Facades, a family-run business founded in 2007 by "Pops". The business has grown organically over recent years; however, we have maintained our service differentiation through the involvement of the leadership team in all main projects.
We specialise in the design, installation and maintenance of all types of Curtain walling, Cladding and Glazing systems from unitised to more bespoke complex façade systems. We provide a complete service including full turnkey or labour only solutions tailored to our customers' requirements `big or small`, including tender support to ensure the rights solutions are found.
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor is essential, as you will be required to ensure that all aspects of tendering through to delivery of the projects are properly managed and controlled, and that the strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the objectives of the business. The role is based in our Widnes office and required to visit Customer offices/projects on site as required.
As Quantity Surveyor at Pops Facades, your responsibilities will include:
- Tendering and Project Accounting
- Taking responsibility for the tendering and commercial administration for the Company
- Reviewing tenders, proposing amendments and negotiating to a satisfactory conclusion that mitigates the risks to an acceptable level
- Preparing pricing documents, including cost/value reconciliation and cashflows
- Commercial set up and administration of projects
- Providing commercial support to the Pops delivery teams
- Completing monthly reviews of contract results and performance
- Managing costs to complete and CVRs on a on selected projects
- Valuations and cash collections
- Ensuring all monthly claims are submitted on time
- Maximising monthly valuations
- Ensuring timely collection of cash
- Dealing with claims preparation, final account negotiation and settlement
- Managing the compensation event process including timely submission with cost information
- Developing the underlying commercial, project accounting and credit control systems.
- Ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements and best practice e.g. contemporaneous record keeping, notices etc
- Updating the website for new project content Accreditation processing e.g. CHAS
At Pops Facades, we're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:
- Degree qualification, or equivalent experience of development and implementation of procedures
- Previous experience in the same role or as a Quantity Surveyor
- Strong contractual experience with knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software
- RICS membership or other relevant professional body, or working towards (desirable)
