We are recruiting for a Senior Payroll & Banking Assistant to work within the Payroll department to process all aspects of Payroll & Banking Administration
The Role
The Financial Services team provides payroll and banking support to our clients .
Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the day to day running of the Payroll and Banking Administration Services, working with a small team of finance assistants.
- To ensure delivery of services to appropriate quality standards and within agreed timeframes.
- To provide expert knowledge in employment related taxation and the implications for Direct Payments recipients to customers, team members and other colleagues.
- To work directly with customers and social care staff to resolve complex payroll and banking issues.
- To support the Head of Direct Payment Support Services with data monitoring and reporting.
- Oversee the day to day running of the Banking Service including making payments, opening and closing accounts, liaising with the bank and update procedures
- Oversee the day to day running of the Payroll Service including processing payroll, liaising with HMRC and other regulative bodies and update procedures in line with the relevant regulations.
Skills Required
- Familiarity with different internet banking systems and services
- Current knowledge of HMRC legislation
- Strong attention to clarity and detail and maintenance of accurate documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Providing accurate administrative support ideally in a financial service setting
- Experience of using IRIS payroll software or similar
