Hostel Team Leader

Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking for a Hostel Team Leader for one of our well respected clients in the Bradford area.

The client provides a range of supported housing and hostel provision for homeless men and women, former rough sleepers and services that specialise in supporting men fleeing domestic abuse, ex-offenders and lone parents. Our services are flexible and user-led, with a focus on prevention, enabling individuals to take control of their lives.

Working 35 hours per week, working flexibly between 8:30am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday

Salary - £25,000 per annum

The candidate needs to be highly motivated and have the passion, enthusiasm and commitment towards making a difference to the lives of vulnerable communities.

Main Purpose of the role

  • To provide housing related support and intensive housing management to men, women and couples within our service.
  • To lone work in the community with service users.
  • To have a small caseload of service users and to provide a dual function of housing related support and intensive housing management to service users.
  • To provide and promote practical and emotional support in order to assist in the development of life skills and enable service users to move on into independent accommodation.
  • Must be willing to work flexibly and cover holidays and sickness. Covering for colleagues sometimes at short notice.
  • To work in the community at service users home addresses which are dispersed in Bradford.
  • To regularly work with and promote our services to voluntary, statutory and community based organisations across the district.

EXTRA RESPONSIBILITES OF TEAM LEADER ROLE

  • To line manage staff allocated from the service.
  • To carry out regular risk assessments with the staff you line manage as well as on the buildings and offices.
  • To manage staff in line with HR policies and procedures, authorising leave and time off in lieu as per conditions laid out in our employee handbook and to ensure adequate cover is maintained.
  • To supervise and appraise staff in line with our Support & Supervision Policy and ensure that their staff team have access to job-related training and development.
  • To provide a management steer to staff when the service manager is not at work or is off site due to training, meetings or annual leave.

Hours: 35 hours Monday-Friday
Driver is essential
Enhanced DBS is required
