Learning and Information Officer

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Learning and Information Officer for a Local Authority Client based in North London.

In this role, you will deliver Library and Heritage Services, manage daily operations at a service point, and support customer engagement and resource development.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Manage public service routines such as shelving, using ICT systems for issuing and discharging items, registering new users, and handling payments.
  • Address and resolve customer enquiries, providing accurate information or referring to other sources as necessary.
  • Assist in reader development and promotional activities, including conducting story readings and rhyme times for children.
  • Assist with stock management, including unpacking, checking, servicing new materials, and repairing or preparing stock.
  • Assist in managing budgets for service points and ensuring effective use of resources.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Previous experience working in a library or similar environment.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality customer service, including handling enquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Experience in conducting reader development activities.
  • Strong experience in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

What's on offer:

Salary: £16+ph

  • may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
