We are inviting applications for an English Teacher at a dynamic secondary school located in the Tonbridge area. This is a permanent position ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about imparting literary knowledge and enhancing student communication skills, starting from September.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring English lessons to students across different secondary school grades.
- Assess and review student progress through both formative and summative assessments.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and examination specifications for English.
- Encourage students to think critically about texts and express their ideas clearly and confidently.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and whole school training events.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes student well-being and high standards of achievement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and current educational practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to motivate students and manage differing ability levels within the classroom.
