Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Transport Manager to oversee all Transport Depots within the UK. This pivotal role involves liaising with key stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and revenue maximisation. Reporting to the General Manager for Road and Rail, the successful candidate will be responsible for supplier rate negotiations, SLAs, and KPIs, ensuring the organisation has the resources to meet business demands while maximising revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maximise operational efficiency and revenue.
  • Oversee supplier rate negotiations, SLAs, and KPIs of third-party providers.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are available to meet varying business demands.
  • Create an environment that encourages high performance at all levels.
  • Promote and grow the Transport operation, identifying and delivering new revenue opportunities.
  • Manage the Transport Depot network, including periodic site visits.
  • Monitor performance through SLAs and KPIs, implementing changes to deliver consistently high performance.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performance culture, overseeing the management of all transport employees.
  • Lead process and system changes, including the rollout and implementation of global systems within the UK.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • National CPC holder.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with Freight Forwarders and Shipping Lines.
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities and a track record in delivering business and profit growth.
  • Resilience, tenacity, and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience in managing costs and revenues for business growth and financial performance.
  • Professional, positive, and flexible attitude with solution-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent financial, numerical, and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage conflict and complex situations professionally.
  • Experienced leader capable of mentoring and developing a high-performing team.
