Our beautiful, Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Hampton in Arden is seeking a dynamic Year 4 Teacher to join us as part of a job share. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with another passionate teacher, sharing responsibilities and enriching the educational experience of our Year 4 students.

Brief overview of the role:

As a Year 4 Teacher in a job share arrangement, you will be collaborating with another teacher to deliver a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students. This role involves teaching a Year 4 class on a part-time basis, with specific days of responsibility allocated to each teacher. Effective communication and collaboration with your job share partner and the wider school community are essential to ensure continuity and consistency in teaching and learning.

Person Specification:

A successful Year 4 Teacher must have a bachelor's degree in education or a related field and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The teacher should have demonstrable experience teaching at the primary level, particularly Year 4 or Key Stage 2, with a proven ability to implement the national curriculum effectively. Key skills of a teacher include delivering engaging lessons, proficient assessment of student progress, excellent classroom management, outstanding communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively, particularly in a job share arrangement. Strong organizational skills are essential. The teacher must possess a deep understanding of the national curriculum, effective teaching strategies, and educational technology. Personal attributes of the teacher include a genuine passion for teaching, flexibility, resilience, empathy, and a reflective approach to improving practice. Desirable criteria for the teacher include postgraduate qualifications, specializations in SEN or EAL, experience in job share arrangements, innovative teaching, mentorship abilities, awareness of educational trends, leadership potential, and a commitment to community engagement.

  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with your job share partner to plan and deliver cohesive and comprehensive lessons that cover the Year 4 curriculum.
  • Engaging Instruction: Teach engaging and inspiring lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students, ensuring every child is motivated and challenged.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth and development.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.
  • Parental Communication: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child's progress and any areas for improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for teaching in the UK.

  • Experience with Formative and Summative Assessment Practices: Knowledge of various assessment methods to monitor and evaluate student progress effectively.
  • Strong Understanding of the Key Stage 2 Curriculum: Familiarity with educational best practices and curriculum requirements for Key Stage 2.
  • Excellent Classroom Management Skills: Ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS Clearance: Required for working with children, or a willingness to obtain one.
