Our client, a prominent player in the automation, power utilities, energy, and renewables sector, is seeking a dedicated Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. This permanent role involves ensuring the maintenance and seamless operation of the production and gas plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying, scheduling, and carrying out routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs
- Maintaining various types of process control instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers
- Assisting in or carrying out vendor-specified routine maintenance
- Ensuring all site services are in good working order and adhere to safe working practices
- Responding to 24-hour call-outs or providing advice on plant breakdowns outside normal working hours
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, ensuring the elimination of preventable hazards
- Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities
- Liaising with and supervising contractors to ensure quality and adherence to company standards
Job Requirements:
- Experience in controls and instrumentation (CORE), maintenance, and instrumentation
- Good working knowledge of electrical systems
- Understanding of the oil and gas industry
- Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan and prioritise daily activities ensuring safety and efficiency
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to cope with pressured situations
- IT literacy
- Instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with maintenance experience on related equipment
