Learning Technologist

Our client, a prestigious London University, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join them as a temporary Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Learning Technologist. The position is 35 hours per week, for 4 months in the first instance. The role offers hybrid-working, with 2-3 days per week based on-site in Central London.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Supporting university staff, using a variety of TEL tools and platforms, to develop teaching and learning resources.
  • Delivery of TEL resources including the university's own system, set-up and support of online assessments.
  • Facilitating training and CPD for staff and students to enhance TEL skills.
  • Liaising and collaborating with fellow staff to support the implementation of the departmental TEL Strategy.
  • Supporting and contributing to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of TEL resources.
  • Using a variety of tools such as Moodle, Turnitin, SharePoint and Office365 etc. to advise on, develop, test and maintain teaching and learning resources.
  • Evaluating existing learning technologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Being a liaison for teaching staff and technical services.

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrable, strong experience in the application of e-learning technologies in a higher education setting.
  • Experience of Moodle administration including course creation, management, design/themes, user experience, LTIs, plugins and analytics.
  • Good understanding of VLE associated technologies e.g. Echo360, Turnitin, MS Office 365 apps - including SharePoint and Teams.
  • Strong presentation and training skills, including experience in designing and delivering content.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using various IT systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and respond promptly to technology-enhanced learning support requests.
