Production Supervisor

Our client Pearsons Glass has a vacancy for a Production Supervisor at their glass manufacturing site in Liverpool. They are a family business and have been in business since 1901 and are well respected within the industry.

You'll be working with their Production team to ensure that orders are fulfilled to the required specifications, on time and to the standard of quality we're known for. You'll be responsible for your shift working safely and effectively and working closely with your counterpart on the opposite shift and your manager to continuously improve the production processes.

What they need:

  • Must have previous experience of supervision within a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong motivator with good management skills
  • Good organiser with the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Health & Safety standards
  • Able to make decisions and understand the required course of action
  • Physically fit to meet long periods in a factory environment and heavy lifting on occasion

What would be nice (but absolutely not essential):

  • Previous experience of handling glass would be a bonus
  • Full, valid drivers licence
  • FLT licence and experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • First Aid qualified

Location: On site at Pearsons Glass, L3 7EH

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, Hourly paid with overtime available on occasion

Shifts: Yes - shift pattern as below

Week 1 & 2

Monday - Thursday 05:45 - 14:00

Friday 05:45 - 13:00

Week 3 & 4

Monday - Thursday 13:45 - 22:30

Friday 12:45 - 18:00

Absence cover may mean adjustment to shifts so some degree of flexibility is required

You initial training period will be on days, 0800-1600 Mon-Thu and 0800-1500 Fri for a short period and then you'll move onto shifts.

You need to be able to get to and from the site for these times. They are midway between two train stations; however public transport may not run at the times required. Please check you can get to them for the above shifts prior to applying.

Pay rate

Standard Hourly Rate: £14.47 per hour (This will be your rate on days and during your training period)
Shift Rate: £17.07 per hour (This will be your normal rate as you are applying for a shift role and will be applied once you go onto shift following your training period)
