Business Analyst- Price Risk Data and Trade Population Controls

Overview:
A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their core project execution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the timely execution of Price Risk deliverables across multiple workstreams. This role requires expertise in trade population control frameworks, data quality controls within the 1LoD/2LoD, and proficiency in business analysis and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with program leads to execute the Price Risk Data regulatory book of work and ensure successful business adoption.
  • Support control enhancements related to trade population completeness and Critical Data Element (CDE) data quality validations.
  • Define 1LoD controls to improve data quality and implement robust monitoring controls.
  • Document business requirements to enable the implementation of preventative and detective controls.
  • Conduct control gap assessments and propose enhancements.
  • Address data quality issues by analyzing end-to-end data flows and ensuring robust target state controls.
  • Support strategy execution via business analysis, data analysis, practical testing, and implementation of the control framework for Price Risk.
  • Oversee trade and CDE data controls, ensuring alignment with data quality metrics.
  • Lead and participate in working groups with stakeholders and technology partners to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Identify risks and issues, proactively resolving or escalating them as necessary.
  • Produce project updates, materials, and reports for various forums and committees.
  • Support the business through UAT, end-to-end, and production parallel testing.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with expertise in trade and CDE data controls, data analysis, business requirements documentation, and UAT testing.
  • Strong understanding of financial products and data structures.
  • Experience designing and monitoring key controls in a trading environment.
  • Expertise in business analysis and change management, delivering complex solutions (knowledge of JIRA and MS Project is a plus).
  • Strong controls mindset, with the ability to identify, mitigate, and escalate risks.
  • Proven industry experience in the financial services sector, particularly within 1LoD/2LoD.
  • Ability to work independently, managing complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a collaborative approach to implementing business change.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in large-scale transformations.

Desirable:

  • Experience within Risk functions, particularly credit or market risk.
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly with PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's/University degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Project Management or Business Analysis (PMP, ISEB) are a strong advantage.
