Head of Supply Chain South-West London £80,000 + Benefits
Role Profile
Our client, who is a growing omni-channel business based near Clapham are looking to recruit a Head of Supply Chain. Reporting into the board, you will have responsibility for driving the procurement strategy and ensuring seamless supply chain execution and on-time production. Working with a global supplier base, you will manage strategic relationships and drive strategic procurement goals including commitments towards sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sourcing strategies to reflect different sales channels, identifying economics of scale or niche capabilities for the brand
- Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to create unique products and new market offerings - such as sustainable materials, innovative packaging etc
- Oversee all large tenders with support from Purchasing Manager
- Identify and evaluate suppliers on global scale including Far East, Europe and beyond, taking a lead on the supplier onboarding process.
- Foster strong relationships with key suppliers, collaborating to find mutually beneficial outcomes
- Oversee production process ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing of products and highest quality standards
- Collaborate with merchandising function to provide factories with long term forecasts and capacity planning
- Provide day to day leadership of procurement team including Purchasing Manager and Buyer
- Drive sustainable initiatives in line with business agenda, seeking to reduce waste and disposables in response to customer demand and legislation
Key Skills
- Strong experience working across Procurement & Supply Chain, with focus on global sourcing and supplier management
- Background working within FMCG businesses would be highly desirable
- Proficient in production planning (e.g. ERP systems) and ideally with experience of conducting factory audits
- Proven record leading teams, with demonstrable evidence of developing team members
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- Passion for sustainability, and evidence of introducing green initiatives across the procurement strategy
