Housing Support Officer

  • Location: Corby
  • Job Type: Full-time - 08.00 - 17.00 - 37.5 hours - Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £18 PH
  • Must be a driver, with access to a car

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to provide high-quality, needs-led support to vulnerable adults. This role requires close collaboration with external agencies and colleagues, adhering to all company policies and procedures while promoting independence and daily living support.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Work closely with individuals to identify and manage their support needs.
  • Offer support and/or signpost to services related to welfare benefits, mental health, physical health, substance and alcohol consumption, budgeting, training, education, and healthy eating.
  • Liaise with external professionals to support tenants with their changing needs.
  • Inspect property areas for repairs and decorations, ensuring spaces are ready for new tenants and promoting safe, clean use of communal areas.
  • Carry out relevant health and safety checks and report any issues.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to new initiatives and service delivery improvements.
  • Maintain a person-centred approach, with the well-being of individuals as the primary focus.
  • Respect confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations (GDPR).
  • Provide advice and support to tenants on housing-related issues, including neighbour disputes and security concerns.
  • Complete and report on relevant paperwork to monitor tenant needs.
  • Engage in training relevant to your role to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor property security and report any concerns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Substantial operational support experience within a similar role.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex workload.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer focus.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • IT literacy with knowledge of Microsoft and database applications.
  • Good financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and make sound decisions.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and a positive ‘can do' attitude.
