A UK Highstreet giant has recently approached Mitchell Adam for assistance with their search for a talented Junior Finance Analyst. This organisation are a household name in the retail sector and have been a staple of UK Highstreets for decades. They have gone through a period of growth and have recently expanded their finance team in Solihull. They are looking to develop the detail of their analysis within the business and have invested heavily in their financial analysis department. Their aim is to bring on an ambitious individual with prior experience with month end responsibilities to join their team. As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will be placed on a path of progression. This path could result in becoming a Senior Finance Analyst, a Senior Management Accountant or even a Finance Business Partner depending on your progression and your desires within the organisation. Your progression is dependant on your ambition, motivation and work ethic and the organisation are looking for an individual who is keen to progress within the business. The role will consist of producing detailed reports, liaising with individuals and having conversations about their financial health and completing accounting tasks such as posting journals and completing reconciliations.

Skills Required

  • To be confident and charismatic. This role will involve you being at the forefront of financial meetings, where your commentary will be heard and considered. This means that it is important that you can communicate in an effective manner.
  • To have a strong analytical ability, it is important to have experience producing reports and providing a commentary for management. The organisation are looking for an individual who is intermediate at Microsoft Excel.
  • To have experience posting journals such as accruals and prepayments, and to have experience completing reconciliations on both the balance sheet and bank. Any experience working on the P&L and producing variance analysis would be desired.
  • The organisation are ideally looking for someone who is currently studying their ACCA or CIMA qualification, and someone who has the motivation to take on senior responsibilities as they grow into this role.
