Design Management Engineer

You will be joining the team on a permanent basis in the Inverness area. This organisation is a well established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across the Scottish Highlands. Working as part of a large design team, you will have input on projects in the civil engineering and energy sectors. Your new role

In your new position you will join an established team, reporting to a design manager on a daily basis and working with the wider project delivery team. In your role you will predominantly work on energy projects initially, where you will support projects from tender stage throughout the construction phase. You will contribute to reviewing design documentation, have an involvement in costings for tenders, review environmental challenges in the projects and visit projects to provide engineering expertise throughout. This role is varied, and involves working in the office and visiting projects across the Highlands.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for this role, ideally you will have previous experience in a civil design engineering role or be taking the next step from a design technician role. This role would require a formal qualification in civil engineering at degree level, but candidates with relevant experience who hold a HNC or HND will also be considered. Strong experience of using AutoCAD including 2D and 3D modelling. You will have the4 ability to produce and review CAD drawings. In addition to strong technical skills, you must have the ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills. The ability to manage and prioritise your workload is also key. This role requires you to travel to projects across the North of Scotland. Therefore, you must hold a full driving licence.
