The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role involves providing crucial support to our Year 1 class, specifically focusing on students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will play a key role in helping these students thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in a Year 1 classroom setting.
  • Assist with phonics and speech and language development.
  • Implement and support individualised learning plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience supporting phonics and speech and language is highly desirable.
  • A Team Teach qualification would be beneficial.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential for this position.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
  • A compassionate and patient approach with a genuine desire to support children with SEND.
