Building Surveyor – The Role:
The Building Surveyor will be responsible for managing and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and development of university buildings and facilities. This includes conducting regular inspections, coordinating with contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting various construction projects from inception to completion.
Building Surveyor – Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for university buildings
- Conduct detailed surveys and inspections of properties
- Prepare reports and recommendations based on findings
- Manage and oversee building projects, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards
- Liaise with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and building codes
- Provide technical advice and support to the university's facilities management team
Building Surveyor – You:
- Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in building surveying, ideally within an educational or large institutional environment
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
