We are seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join our team, working across a diverse range of schools in the Cardiff area. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to work with children with special educational needs, both in small groups and classroom settings. Our goal is to create a fun and safe learning environment where children are equipped to reach their full potential.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO, and class teachers.
  • Implement Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress.
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in activities.
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of the English language.
  • Proactive attitude with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to monitor behavioural needs and support pupils with low self-esteem.
  • Calm demeanour and encouraging nature.
  • Contactable references.
  • A Child and Adult DBS – or willingness to undertake one.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training as required.

Desirable:

  • Minimum of 3 months child-based experience or a relevant child-based qualification.
  • Qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistance, HLTA, CACHE Level 1-3 in Childcare & Education, or BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies.
