An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented In-Service Support Electronics Engineer to join a leading organisation. This role is based in Portsmouth and offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of electronic assemblies, as well as supporting off-site trials activities and conducting testing on board customer platforms. This role provides an excellent platform to showcase your skills and experiences in a high safety integrity environment.

What you'll do:

As an In-Service Support Electronics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of electronic assemblies. You will be responsible for maintaining existing designs while also implementing new technology insertion programs. Design and develop electronic assemblies from specification through to release into service

  • Maintain existing designs and implement technology insertion programs.
  • Support off-site trials activities.
  • Conduct testing on board customer platforms.
  • Translate requirements into design detail.
  • Select components, capture schematics, and support PCB layout.
  • Specify bespoke procured items.
  • Interface with related disciplines including mechanical/thermal engineering, ILS, Safety, and Production.
  • Follow the engineering lifecycle and undertake progress, peer and design reviews.
  • Design, develop and demonstrate system integrations.
  • Analyse fibre optic systems using power meters and OTDRs.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the In-Service Support Electronics Engineer role will have a degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a strongly related subject Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject.

  • Experience operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment.
  • Experience generating component level designs for introduction into volume production using computer-aided engineering.
  • Demonstrable expertise in analogue circuit analysis.
  • Understanding of basic analogue signal processing techniques such as active filtering.
  • Understanding of good power supply discipline and decoupling.
  • Experience of analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversion.
