We are seeking a Purchasing Administrator to join our clients team and play a pivotal role in driving the business forward. This position involves working closely with the Purchasing Assistant and reporting to the Purchasing Manager. The role encompasses a variety of tasks from day-to-day purchasing activities to data analysis and management, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Day to day of the role:

  • Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on supplier lead times.
  • Raising purchase orders and optimising inventory levels to meet targets.
  • Liaising with suppliers and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Managing and maintaining product data for over 13,000 SKUs in our ERP system.
  • Conducting extensive analysis and integrating product and purchasing data into actionable reports.
  • Reviewing and resolving discrepancies with supplier invoices, claims, or quality issues.
  • Developing key purchasing analysis and reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a purchasing or similar role.
  • Experience in liaising with offshore suppliers.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in using an ERP system for product data management.
  • Highly analytical mindset with excellent numerical, data visualisation, and reporting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and organise effectively.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills, with a target-driven approach.
  • Commercial and retail awareness, with confidence in reporting to management.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a cooperative attitude, with the ability to work as part of a team.
