About the role:

Are you ready to elevate your career and be part of something truly impactful? We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Management Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. As a vital member of our small, dynamic finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting our ambitious growth plans as we aim to transform the lives of 5 million learners globally by 2030.

In this role, you won't just crunch numbers—you'll gain hands-on experience across every corner of our business, working closely with our Financial Controller and Assistant Management Accountant. You'll help embed efficient end-to-end processes and deliver insightful reporting that drives real value, all while contributing to a mission that matters.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Take charge of our monthly management accounts, delivering insightful reports and analyses that you'll present directly to key stakeholders.
  • Oversight of the Sales and Purchase ledger, including credit control, bank reconciliations, PO management, expense processing and General Ledger management.
  • Forge strong partnerships with departmental budget holders, offering support and challenge to drive financial success.
  • Champion system improvements and new integrations,, including CRM and payment portals, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Lead the year end Statutory Account preparation and provide audit oversight.
  • Provide crucial ad hoc project support and financial analysis to aid business decisions.
  • Ownership of UK and International VAT compliance.
  • Drive continuous process improvement by refining and improving our accounting practices, ensuring we operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with finance and non-financial colleagues to ensure financial reports are clear and add value.
  • Support and mentor our more junior members of the team.

What You'll Need:

  • Qualifications: Newly qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
  • Experience: Strong background in finance and CRM systems (SageX3 experience is a bonus, but not required).
  • Influence and Challenge: Ability to influence, support, and challenge non-financial colleagues effectively.
  • Flexibility: A proactive and adaptable approach to meet the changing demands of our business.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with a talent for problem-solving.
  • Adaptability: Quick to pivot when faced with changing or conflicting priorities.
  • Communication: An articulate communicator, confident in explaining, presenting, and discussing financial and business information.
