Hatched recruitment is looking for a Finance Manager in the Huddersfield area, ideal for those who are looking for a short term contract for 3 - 6 months with chance of extension.

The Finance Manager will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, professional, financial support service to our customers. You will also be an integral member of the service Finance Manager Group, and will be expected to help drive the delivery of a modernised service, through leading well, supporting the team, delivering to our customers, instilling confidence and provide challenge option and solutions.

Key areas of responsibility

  • You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, high quality, financial service including the management and supervision of staff.
  • You will be a visible leader, manage resources effectively, and be passionate about making a difference.
  • In doing this you will be expected to provide and share information in a clear and concise manner to build understanding.
  • You will have management responsibility for a finance team, be a positive role model, and ensure commitment towards team goals and Service vision and priorities.
  • It will be your responsibility to performance manage your team and ensure we deliver to our customers.

Knowledge, qualifications, skills, and experience

  • Member of a recognised CCAB professional accountancy body.
  • Experience in the application of resource and business planning within a local authority or similarly complex organisation
  • An awareness of the current issues affecting local government and the financial implications for local authorities.
  • Experience of complex financial systems in a large organisation Essential
  • Experience of supporting the preparation of budgets, medium term financial and service plans and introducing appropriate mechanisms to monitor their activity.
