Project Resource Manager

We are looking for a Project Resource Manager to join the People Capability team within the Future Infrastructure Programme.

As the Project Resource Manager, you will partner with specific projects within our large-scale portfolio, to give full support on resourcing strategy in order to meet our business goals and future requirements. You will lead on establishing and delivering innovative solutions to project-specific resourcing challenges, supporting recruitment via the supplying functions, and covering the full range of resourcing options, including future skills development and utilisation of our delivery partnerships.

As part of the People Capability team, you will be responsible for understanding and articulating the full resource picture for your assigned projects, supporting them in line with Company processes, delivering data insights and continuous improvement activities, and feeding into and monitoring progress against our top-level people strategy.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in recruitment or resource management, with experience in strategic workforce planning. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strategic resource management/workforce planning experience or significant experience recruiting in a relevant industry with the potential to think strategically.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should also be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills - this role involves working with and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels and both internal and external. It will also involve collaborative working within the immediate and wider team.
  • Clear and concise communication approach both oral and written, at multiple levels. Confident in compiling presentations and presenting to peers and Senior Managers.
  • The ability to analyse, manipulate, and interpret and present people and/or financial data.
  • Experience within a matrix organisation and/or working with delivery partners.
  • Project management experience or experience supporting project, programme or portfolio management.
  • Experience in a people related role, and specifically in talent management/succession planning.
  • IT skills - including MS Office and PowerBI.
  • Supply and demand/business planning experience.
  • CIPD or equivalent business-related qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering and collaborating with individual projects/programmes to understand their resourcing issues, develop innovative solutions and develop and implement resourcing strategies in line with functional and programme strategic workforce plans.
  • Ensuring focus and momentum across recruitment for all projects, identifying and driving innovative solutions and external opportunities while working alongside functional and programme resource planning.
  • Consolidating, challenging and maintaining clarity of the full workforce position, data and organisational structure to include both AWE staff/contractors and external delivery partners/suppliers.
  • Enabling cross-project performance and talent management in line with company processes and in support of functional and project requirements.
  • Understanding project/programme single points of failure, develop strategies and plans, and manage mitigations to reduce risk.
  • Delivering people capability and data reporting/business rhythm.
  • Working with all functions to establish SLAs aligned to meet project requirements and establishing KPIs to measure functional workforce delivery performance.

Package: from £48,000 to £60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)
