About the School: The primary school, based in Romford, is a vibrant and inclusive school dedicated to providing an excellent education for all their students. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team and support their primary school students from September 2024.

With a bus stop outside the school and plenty of free on-street parking, the institution is easily accessible by public transport and car.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons, support student learning, and contribute to the overall positive ethos of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons under the direction of teaching staff.
  • Provide support to individual students and small groups to enhance their learning and development.
  • Assist in the assessment of students' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Cover classes and manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher.
  • Support the planning and implementation of interventions for students with additional needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role within a primary school.
  • Strong understanding of the primary school curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and learning.
