Internal Sales Support Executive

We require an Internal Sales Support Executive to join our Head Office in Alton working as part of our Instrumentation Department. The role would suit candidates with proven internal sales, sales administration, sales support or similar experience or someone looking to move on from a more hands on technical or engineering based role into an office based position whereby you can utilise your ability to understand a specific technical product range. We can offer full training on our products and the chance to join a well established and successful company.

We are a leading manufacturing organisation and can offer job stability and the opportunity to work as part of a busy and professional team of 30 at our recently refurbished offices. The Internal Sales Support Executive role will be working Mon to Fri with an early finish on a Friday. We offer pension, death in service, life insurance, free parking and 23 days holiday plus bank holiday with a salary between £26 and £30k depending on experience plus discretionary annual bonus.

The main responsibilities and duties of the role are below:-

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide product information and recommendations to customers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers.
  • Assist external sales representatives with order processing, quotations, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare and send proposals, quotations, and invoices to clients.
  • Maintain and update customer records and sales databases.
  • Identify and qualify potential sales opportunities through research and outreach.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's products and services to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Work closely and provide support to the Sales Order Processing team, Marketing, and external Sales Team to ensure a seamless customer experience.

To be successful you will ideally have 2 years experience working in a sales or customer service role preferably within a manufacturing, engineering, or technical company and have the ability to learn our product range. Previous experience within a pro active customer service role or previous sales support, sales administration or similar experience is desirable. You should have strong PC skills and ideally have worked on a CRM system and you must have excellent attention to detail and a confident and professional telephone manner.
