We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our team, delivering an inspiring English curriculum to students at GCSE level (KS3 and KS4). This is a permanent opportunity to contribute to a culture of learning that enthuses students and provides a strong foundation for their future education.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students across KS3 and KS4.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
- Update all records accurately as required and prepare reports on students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
- Be a committed team player, involved in the development of the school curriculum and pastoral care.
- Continuously update personal subject knowledge and teaching practice in line with current educational practices and methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Degree in English or a related subject.
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline.
- Proven track record of raising attainment and delivering successful student outcomes.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
