Their offices in Poole have been renovated and make for very appealing surroundings to work in. This role sits within their Information Security team, supporting their parent company. The parent company is an award-winning global distributor of semiconductors and electronic components that ships to over 500,000 customers in 170 countries. Your new role

The Information Security Architect provides detailed recommendations for architecture and technology and reports on all matters relevant to information security. The Information Security Architect works with infrastructure teams, support teams, and development teams to develop and implement security standards and training, ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the systems, reviews, documents, and assesses all items relevant to information security. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Evaluating systems, workflows, methodologies, source code, and configurations against appropriate information security standards and provides reports to document.
  • Working to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Mouser systems.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain information security related tools and systems in support of information security operations.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive or confidential information.
  • Must stay up to date on current security, operating systems, and web technologies.
  • Mentor and train both technical and non-technical audiences on security practices and standards

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a strong security architecture background, with 5+ years' experience. This is not a role for a step up from an Engineer or other position. My client is looking for someone who is an SME in 2 or 3 areas of Information Security. For example, Cloud, Network Security, GRC, Architecture, Engineering etc. You'll also need experience with the below.

  • Strong experience and depth of knowledge with Palo Alto, Rapid7, Sentinel and others.
  • Experience implementing, creating policies within, and managing firewalls.
  • Experience of being an Architect within an enterprise business.
  • The ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written technical and non-technical communication. Uses good business judgement and communications to keep IS Management informed.
  • You will be an analytical thinker willing to "think outside the box" to resolve customer-impacting situations on first contact.
  • A positive attitude, good teamwork, professionalism & interpersonal skills, proactively seeking solutions, taking initiative where necessary.
  • Network security including Firewalls and VPN
  • PKI and Multifactor Authentication
  • SAML and/or oAuth, Authentication, Authorisation, and Accounting
  • Web-based APIs and automation systems.
  • Encryption and key management
  • Programming languages and secure application development
  • Compliance frameworks (NIST, PCI, SOX, ISO, GDPR, etc.)
