Registered Care Manager - Children's Care home

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Care Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a children's care home and a thorough understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspections. As the Registered Care Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the care home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strong leadership and management to the care team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture within the care home, promoting teamwork and professional development.

  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance management.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure the care home operates in accordance with Ofsted regulations and standards.

  • Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, ensuring the care home meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.

  • Care Planning and Delivery:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.

  • Monitor and review care plans regularly, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Promote the physical, emotional, and social development of the children in our care.

  • Safeguarding and Welfare:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the care home.

  • Implement and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Manage any safeguarding concerns promptly and effectively.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Foster strong relationships with children, families, staff, and external agencies.

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports as required.

  • Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and educational providers.

  • Operational Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, including budgeting and resource management.

  • Ensure the home is well-maintained and provides a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a children's care home.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspections.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
