Our Client, City of Doncaster Council, is seeking an Adults BIA to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • To undertake the Mental Capacity Assessment, Age Assessment, No Refusals Assessment and Best Interests Assessment in line with the DoLS statutory process plus any other assessments within the remit of the Supervisory Body as appropriate and requested by the DoLS Team Leader
  • To identify the need, refer and liaise with Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (‘IMCA') and relevant person's representative (‘RPR') where appropriate. Work with the other assessors in the service to review and scrutinise reports received from paid representatives
  • To apply professional expertise in exploring the possibility of alternative less restrictive management arrangements on a case-by-case basis or in making alternative professional recommendations as appropriate.
  • To undertake Best Interest Assessments as required out of area under any multi-agency reciprocal arrangements.
  • Support with the internal training of other Best Interests Assessors.
  • To support with the implementation of the service's Quality and Performance Monitoring Cycle.
  • Support other colleagues and professional with MCA and DoLS related issues, including joint working on complex cases.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum 2 years post qualified experience
