Azure Data Engineer/Architect - NPPV3 Cleared

Salt Recruitment is looking for an experienced Data Specialist to work with our emergency services client. This role requires you to have a strong background in the UK policing sector and you must have a valid Warwickshire NPPV3 certificate to be considered.

Rate: £700 - £750 Inside IR35

Location: London (Hybrid)

Duration: July 2024 - January 2025

Hours: PART-TIME (2-3 days per week)

Key Tasks

You will be required to provide technical expertise and lead technical discussions with

our supplier partner. The key tasks are:

1. Gap Analysis and Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis to identify immediate requirements and prioritise actions before supplier onboarding
  • Undertake assessment of Partner Supplier pre-requisites and lead on ensuring the pre-requisites are in place

2. Data Architecture Mapping:

  • Quickly gain in depth understanding of data architecture through engagement with IT, Data system owners and suppliers
  • Produce data architecture map with full documentation
  • Engage with System Owners and Suppliers of systems proposed to connect to the centralised data repository - Crime Recording, HR, Finance etc to assess feasibility of and the work needed to connect systems to Data Platform

3. Expert Liaison with Supplier Partner:

  • Review Supplier Partner proposals and provide expert liaison with them - particularly around set-up of platform
  • Provide business knowledge to feed into design and implementation of Azure based infrastructure solution, common data model and system integration

4. Support with Data Modelling and data system integration preparations:

  • Understanding policing, police data and translation (for example linking requirements to data tables and data fields via crime recording system/Business objects etc, understanding data definitions through to testing, accuracy, and delivery against requirements
  • Elicit teams expertise to define KPIs/metrics and other requirements for data dashboards, which will help inform the Common Data Model
  • Translation of tables/fields, data definitions against requirements for Integration of key data systems to Data Platform

Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience as a data engineer in policing sector
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Experience of Architecting and implementing Azure Services e.g. Azure cloud services, Azure storage, IIS, Azure Active Directory (AD), Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Storage, Azure, Blob Storage, Azure VMs, SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure Service Fabric, Azure Monitor, and Azure Service Bus
  • Business Intelligence experience: Power BI, Business Objects, SAP Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects
  • Databases experience : SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL, Oracle, PL SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Power BI
  • Data engineering certification
