Group Financial Controller

Butler Rose is pleased to be supporting a leading company in the manufacturing sector with the recruitment of an experienced Financial Controller to oversee and enhance their financial operations. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid accountancy background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in driving process improvements and change initiatives.

Reporting into the FD, key responsibilities will include

  • Prepare consolidated statutory accounts and oversee the preparation of management accounts.
  • Lead the financial team in managing transactional tasks including sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting, and general ledger entries.
  • Handle VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax duties, liaise with auditors, and prepare audit packs.
  • Oversee company accounts and investments, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting systems to comply with regulations and legislation.
  • Manage cash flow, track transactions, and provide regular financial forecasts.
  • Motivate and coach finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of PAYE and VAT regulations.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller in the manufacturing sector, ideally within food or FMCG.
  • Exceptional leadership and staff management skills.
  • Strong project management experience and the ability to drive process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Advanced IT skills.
