Silver Swan is currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable Laundress to join a small, welcoming team based in London. This role does involve travel to additional properties in Surrey, Barbados, and New York (in 2025). This long standing, valued client of ours requires a knowledgeable Laundress to provide exceptional services to this busy young family of 5.
The successful Laundress will be working on a rota basis with another Laundress, doing a rota of 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off, providing a balanced work-life dynamic. If you are an experienced Laundress with a passion for excellence and eco-friendly practices, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of laundry care for the household, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding
- Manage quick turnaround of laundry, ensuring same-day service whenever possible
- Maintain and operate eco-friendly laundry systems
- Care for garments, linens, and other fabrics, ensuring they are cleaned to the highest standard
- Oversee the laundry needs of the family and guests typically servicing around 10 people weekly, more during busier periods
- Coordinate with housekeepers for additional support during peak times
- Maintain excellent timekeeping and reliability, ensuring all tasks are completed promptly
- Travel as required to various locations, including Barbados, New York City, Surrey, and London
Ideal candidate:
- MUST have the right to live and work in the UK
- Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of laundry systems and fabric care
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and the ability to work independently
- Reliable and professional, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to work longer hours during busy periods and travel as needed
- Prior experience in a similar role within a private household is highly desirable
