Are you a skilled and experienced Senior Storage Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the banking industry? Our client, a global financial organisation, is seeking a talented individual to join their dynamic team on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months. As a Senior Storage Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing their IT platform, ensuring smooth operations and driving strategic initiatives. Role: Senior Storage Engineer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: London (Hybrid, 2 days a week in office)
Rate: £550 per day (umbrella)
Responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership and provide support for our client's storage and data backup systems.
- Monitor and enhance storage and backup environments, managing alerts and ensuring global standards are met.
- Ensure availability and readiness of storage and data protection systems at business continuity and disaster recovery sites.
- Evaluate emerging security threats and implement patching schedules to protect systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to recommend and scope enhancements, engaging 3rd party suppliers when necessary.
- Manage hardware and software life cycles, preventing negative impacts from end-of-life or end-of-support milestones.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of storage protocols, enterprise datacenter technologies, TCP/IP, and DNS.
- Excellent skills in storage, backup, and datacenter technologies, including SAN, NAS, and enterprise backup products.
- Experience with enterprise storage technologies such as NetApp, Dell PowerMax / PowerStore, and Dell Data Domain.
- Familiarity with Rubrik backup technology in highly virtualized environments.
- Ability to work within strict change control and process-driven environments.
- Proven track record of managing projects to delivery.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in managing enterprise storage technologies and supporting partners in datacenter environments.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies.
- Good understanding of Windows client/server operating systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively with multiple support teams.
