Assistant Accountant

We're excited to be working in partnership on the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant into a growing manufacturing firm based in Denmead, PO7.
The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller to provide extensive support across transactional finance (purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and reconciliations), whilst receiving on the job training and exposure to month end accounts, with a view that within the next 6-12 months, they will take further ownership over this area of finance.
Duties of the Assistant Accountant include:
- Daily posting of bank transactions
- Reconciliation of bank account and other balance sheet accounts
- Maintaining debtor's control, deal with invoice and payment queries and to chase overdue payments
- Assisting with management of purchase and sales ledgers ensuring accurate and timely recording and processing of information
- Assisting with creating and maintaining supplier account details and reconciliation of supplier statements as required
- Processing general ledger, fixed assets and cash book transactions
- Supporting month end procedures ensuring timely completion of tasks to facilitate accurate reporting
Experience required for the Assistant Accountant:
- Experience of working in an Assistant Accountant role is essential
- Solid experience of using Microsoft Office incl. Excel
- SAGE 50 / Manufacturing experience highly beneficial
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Working towards AAT - desirable
Salary up to £30k depending on experience, hybrid working pattern (Monday - Friday) and excellent progression opportunities!
