NEW OPPORTUNITY - Senior PV Engineer - £90,000 DOE - London (Hybrid)

Piper Maddox are working exclusively with a global powerhouse in renewable energy generation. My client boasts one the largest Solar PV pipelines in the world with operations across 6 continents. They are looking to build out the UK technical team with a key Senior PV Engineer hire to lead the design and development of cutting-edge solar power projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse potential sites, assessing topography and other factors to determine the best solar technologies, including BESS and AgriPV solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of mechanical, civil, and electrical design packages for large-scale PV systems, from concept to completion.
  • Work closely with the grid team to align MV/HV systems and prepare accurate single-line diagrams.
  • Perform energy simulations to forecast project performance and ensure optimal energy yield.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate layout designs, identify potential challenges, and provide technical reports.
  • Engage with third-party consultants and advisors during project due diligence, ensuring all technical aspects are thoroughly reviewed.

Key Skills:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in renewable energy, with a focus on solar PV and BESS.
  • Strong expertise in PV system design, including familiarity with IEC standards and relevant project-specific codes.
  • Advanced proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and PVCase.
  • Knowledge of solar project components including inverters, transformers, and other critical electrical equipment.
