Events and Membership Officer - Charity - £28k to £33k + excellent benefits - Central SW London

This historical heritage site is looking for an Events & Membership Officer, working in their Fundraising department. This role will support those who have oversight of such events by ensuring that they are planned, coordinated and executed with care, attention to detail and to the highest standard, reflecting values and to exceed the expectations of participants. The same level of personalised customer care is also required of our membership and supporters' programmes as they are upgraded and background processes are automated through EPOS. This will be challenging for many of our existing supporters, and some will continue to require complementary personal support to enhance and maintain their supporter journey.

The Fundraising Events and Membership Officer is tasked with the comprehensive management of annual fundraising events and the upkeep of membership program. This role involves the coordination and execution of prestigious private events that are well known and popular with a variety of people and companies. The Officer will work with various teams to design and execute bespoke visits and events.

SALARY ETC:

  • £28,000 to £33,000
  • Excellent Pension scheme, Up to 30 days of holiday (starting at 25 days) plus bank holidays, Discounts in the cafe and on-site shop, Training and development opportunities.
  • Permanent, full-time.
  • 41 hr contract (includes breaks), working primarily Mon - Fri office hours, but with flexibility on occasions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have right to work in the UK (not able to offer sponsorship)
  • Prior experience in event management and/or membership program administration.
  • Degree or equivalent event and customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with guests and members.
  • Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple events and tasks efficiently.
  • Creative skills in designing invitations and promotional materials.
  • High attention to detail for managing bookings, seating arrangements, and database updates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with guests and members.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Develop and implement advertising strategies for events.
  • Design invitations and promotional materials for each event.
  • Use various channels to inform potential guests about upcoming events.
  • Manage guest lists and take bookings for events.
  • Handle seating arrangements and ensure guests are well-informed about their attendance details.
  • Liaise with guests to address any concerns or special requests.
  • Ensure smooth execution of events by coordinating with relevant suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and express appreciation.
  • Keep members updated with the latest news and upcoming events.
  • Develop and distribute regular newsletters or updates to members.
  • Update the membership database with new information as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of member information.
  • Handle all administrative tasks related to the membership program including renewals, DD administration etc.
  • Respond to member inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the Philanthropy Officer to align fundraising and membership strategies.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure cohesive and successful event planning and execution.
