Land Agent

Role Overview

The South Coast Development Team are seeking an experienced strategic land agent to join the team, co-ordinate our significant strategic land portfolio and help with the continued growth of our business.

The role would be split between the Wimborne and Southampton office, with the ideal candidate able to share their time equally between the two offices.

Key Responsibilities

The role is to support Senior Directors on a day to day basis. Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison with developers, promoters, investors and key contacts to source and appraise new strategic land development opportunities.
  • Co-ordinating project due diligence.
  • Liaising with internal and external planners, masterplanners, architects & consultants to establish the options within a development.
  • Carrying out development appraisals on new and existing projects.
  • Leading external teams from the planning/promotion stage through to delivery.
  • Preparing development briefs, business plans and programmes
  • Producing monthly update reports.
  • Feasibility and viability appraisals for reporting forecasts.
  • Producing quarterly monitoring reports on strategic land promotions.
  • Building relationships with existing and future landowner clients.

People Leadership:

  • To set clear objectives in line with company/Divisional/team strategy and to measure performance against these
  • To conduct regular 121's, complete thorough probationary, interim and annual appraisals as per company guidelines
  • To support team members in career development via training (to ensure high skill levels both technically & behaviourally), coaching, mentoring and the promotion and succession/talent processes
  • To adhere to all company processes with regards to people management and to role model professional behaviours at all times
  • To ensure recruitment is completed professionally and in line with team/divisional/company goals, thinking strategically re future needs and in line with our diversity goals

In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

A fast paced and friendly team, The South coast development team currently comprises 6 Directors, 1 Associate Director, 2 Associates, 1 Senior Surveyors, 2 Surveyors, 1 Graduate Surveyor and 1 Apprentice located in the Wimborne and Southampton offices. The Team is spilt into 5 business streams, mainly Valuation, Development Agency, Strategic Land Agency, Development Consultancy and Viability and LPA Receivership.
