1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEND)

Reed Education Birmingham is working in partnership with a Special Needs School to recruit dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants. In this vital role, you will support children on a one-to-one and small group basis, fostering a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate closely with other staff members and the SENDco to support children, the majority of whom have EHC plans.
  • Provide individualised and small group assistance to enhance student learning and development.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a positive educational setting tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Work with the school team to implement effective teaching strategies and behaviour management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, students, and parents.
