First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Machinist to join an established and growing company in the Stirlingshire region. Our client is a Pump manufacturer, dedicated to Pump products world-wide.

  • £17-18/hr pay rate
  • 37.5hr work week
  • 4.5 working days
  • Mon to Fri 8am to 4pm and Fri 8am to 1pm.
  • OT 1.5x

This role will report directly to the workshop team and you will be expected to work as part of a collaborative team of operatives in ensuring a high quality and degree of output and craftsmanship.

Duties will involve the following:

  • Set and operate manual lathes, horizontal borers, vertical borers as well as milling machines
  • Carrying out various manufacturing disciplines with a degree of flexibility and integrity and working efficiently to achieve "on time" targets of an excellent quality to company procedures
  • Ensure all pre-safety checks are completed, and that all equipment and guarding in the Machine Shop is maintained to a high standard where appropriate liaising with Team Leader/ Manager
  • Ensure a high level of housekeeping and that your area of responsibility is visitor ready at all times using 6 S Techniques; actively participate where required to support the business continuous improvement projects

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must have:

  • Time served apprenticeship in their engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience of manual lathes, horizontal borers, vertical borers as well as milling machines.
