  • *About the Role:**

Career Teachers is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant and supportive SEN school in Leeds. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Support students with personal care, mobility, and social integration.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere to promote learning and development.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • *Requirements:**
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature with a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • *Desirable:**
  • Experience with specific SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, or physical disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.
  • Training in manual handling or personal care.
