Contract: Permanent, full-time hours, 52 weeks a year, flexible working considered

Aston Education is working with a large Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham looking for an HR Advisorto start as soon as possible.

The role of HR Advisor is hugely important within the school. The individual will help bring to life their People Strategy by playing an instrumental role in providing generalist HR support to the school.

You will be involved in employee relations queries, including, supporting the school with first and second tier disciplinary, capability and grievance procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment checks, payroll administration, as well as maintaining and updating the College's Single Central Record and HR systems.

You'll have:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or relevant Degree
  • Experience of providing generalist HR advice and support on HR policies/procedures, preferably in a school
  • Experience of advising senior managers on employment law issues, including disciplinary, absence management, grievances and capability procedures
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • A strong understanding of equality of opportunity and diversity of issues
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
