Hays Education are working with a school in Sheffield, who are needing a Roma speaking Teaching Assistant to start with them in September. This is a full-time job, starting initially on a temporary basis with a view to becoming perm.
The school are looking for someone who is able to act as a translator for students aged 5 - 16 years old, and their families, who speak Romanian as their first language. You will be expected to work with these students not only to translate, but also to help them with their English and provide support to them in lessons. You will also act as an intermediary between school staff and students parents at parents evenings, review meetings etc.
In order to apply for this job, you must:
- Be able to speak Romanian fluently
- Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car is preferable but not essential
- Have strong communication skills
- Have strong organisation and behaviour management skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be able to start work in September
